About the Earth Saver Alpaca Dryer Balls - These are Different!
These specially made dryer balls are from an alpaca farmer on the East coast of the USA. She has a unique technique for making her dryer balls with is much faster and much less expensive than the time consuming way most others use. Many farms have tried to make dryer balls only to find out the process is slow and time consuming, and give up after some time. She puts out a LOT of dyer balls with her proprietary approach by using leftover fibers from a local mill which would normally simply go to waste.
How Big Are They?
Each ball is approx. 2-3 inches across, 4-6 inches in circumference, approx. size of a tennis ball. The soft 100% alpaca fiber is used with these guys giving you the ultimate benefit of softness, absorbency, and freedom from static cling and wrinkles.
How Are They Made?
Nylons are used to form the balls, leaving behind a "belly button" hole from where the knot is cut off. It does not hinder the use or quality of the ball. The balls also look "fuzzier" then wet felted balls, but this quickly disappears with use and does not impact the effectiveness of the dryer balls.
How Do They Work?
Alpaca wool dryer balls are an inexpensive and reusable Eco-Friendly alternative to dryer sheets. The hollow core fiber of alpaca absorbs water, which reduces drying time to protect delicate clothing and save on energy bills. Adding several balls to the dryer will separate clothing, which also reduces drying time and decreases static. As the dryer balls rub up against items in the dryer, gentle friction helps to soften fabric fibers and fluff large items like comforters, eliminating the need for fabric softeners and dryer sheets.
How to Use Earth Saver Alpaca Dryer Balls
Place the alpaca dryer balls in your dryer for a natural way to soften and fluff your laundry. Just leave them there even between loads. They help reduce the drying time by as much of 25%, saving on your money on your electric bill.
Fiber doesn't break down, therefore lasting years! Simply keep them in the dryer at all times.
Suggested Use:
Use 3 dryer balls at a time per load. Can be used over and over again!
Tips & Tricks:
| UNSCENTED......... | Want a scent? Add several drops of your favorite essential oils, will absorb into the fiber for wonderful scent lasting 3-4 loads! |
| SOAP.................. | The felting process requires the use of soap so for those with allergies these balls are made with all natural goat milk soap! |
| SHEDDING.......... | If you are concerned with "shedding" fibers, try running through a hot wash cycle first before using in dryer. |
| STATIC............... | If you still get some static in your clothes, toss in a COTTON wash cloth with 3 or 4 safety pins on it. Keep in the dryer for every load. This works, trust me! |

Alpaca Dryer Balls
Received my dryer balls and have used them only twice so far and have really not noticed any difference. I did spray some essential oils on them as suggested for fragrance and did notice a faint sweet smell when I took my items out of the dryer which was nice. Hopefully as I use them more I will notice more of a difference by having them but as of right now I don't see them as being advantageous.
